Ian Billington, MCFI-Aerobatics
Ian Billington a CFI based at Mesa, Arizona, has been designated a Master Instructor for the first time.Ian is an Advanced Instructor Pilot with Aviation Performance Solutions where he teaches all facets ofUpset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT) in the Extra 300L, providing training in both the simulator and in the classroom. His dream of flying began early in life and was pursued at the Air Force Academy, followed by Active Duty and the National Guard, where he earned thousands of hours as an instructor in the T-6 Texan II and the F-16 Viper. He resides in Arizona with his wife Kimberly, his son Lauden, his baby daughter Isla, and their four Labrador Retrievers.
Rochelle Oslick, MCFI-Aerobatics
Rochelle Oslick of Oxnard, California has received her initial designation as Master Instructor-Aerobatic in May 2020. Rochelle learned to fly at the Edwards AFB Flying Club while stationed there as a USAF Flight Test Engineer. She started flying tailwheel/aerobatic airplanes at Santa Paula Airport in 1988.
Rochelle’s aerospace engineering career led her to work at Lockheed, Douglas Aircraft Company, and The Boeing Company, so she based her flying at several other airports in southern California and in western Washington. In 2003, Rochelle started flight instructing part-time, mostly in tailwheel and aerobatic airplanes, in the Seattle area. After retiring from Boeing, Rochelle returned to her favorite airport, KSZP, and is currently a CFI providing flight training at CP Aviation.
Mike Traude, MCFI
Michael B. Traud of Gold River, California, a 9-time Master and SAFE member. A member of the Master Instructor Board of Review, Mike serves as a Designated Pilot Examiner in Northern California and operates MTAviation Services, LLC which provides aviation support and consultationservices. Additionally, Mike is a flight instructor providing annual recurrent training to support aviation insurance requirements. He is based at the Sacramento Mather (KMHR) Airport.
