Master Instructors is honored to announce that David McVinnie of Albuquerque, New Mexico is the first Aviation Educator to be recognized as a Master Instructor for the Fourteenth time. This accreditation recognizes more than twenty-eight years as an aviation educator who is committed to achieving excellence in not only teaching, but continuing his own education while giving back to the aviation community. Dave and his wife Suzanne (also a pilot and ground instructor) moved to Albuquerque in 1994 after a 23-year electronics career in the USAF. He served as a Chief Flight Instructor at two Part 141 schools in the Albuquerque area. Dave has specialized in the Piper/M-Class aircraft for over 20 years and currently provides initial and recurrent training. He is also the fleet statistician and a freelance aviation safety writer for the Piper/M-Class Owners and Pilots Association magazine. He has been serving as a Designated Pilot Examiner since 2005.

Master Instructors is honored to announce that Kelly Manzani of Temecula, California has received her Third designation as a Master Flight Instructor. Kelly was first introduced to aviation in 2008 when her 14-year-old son began lessons. As she “tagged along,” she too fell in love followed by her other son, and the family has since become centered around aviation. In 2013, Kelly began her training and was instructing by 2017. A public school educator for 19 years, most with the Temecula Valley Unified School District, she has a K-12 Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from California, BA in Liberal Studies, Single Subject Math Authorization through 9th grade, and an MA in Curriculum and Instruction. Her passion to teach and educational background has proven instrumental to her aviation endeavors. She enjoys working with varying ages, backgrounds and skillsets, appreciating each for their unique qualities. Helping them achieve their goals is the greatest reward. Shortly after retiring from the classroom, she accepted the role of 141 Chief Instructor at Executive Flight Institute, Murrieta, California. Her most recent endeavor was adding a type rating to her certificate, and now flies for Premier Air Charter in Carlsbad, California. Kelly enjoys giving of her time towards the school’s youth program, the local EAA chapter, and Pilots n Paws. When she is not flying, she enjoys spending time with her husband and family, biking, walking and traveling.

Master Instructors is proud to announce that Nick “Outback” Treglia of Enterprise, Alabama earned his Fourth designation as Master Certificated Flight Instructor – Aerobatic. As an advanced instructor for Aviation Performance Solutions, Nick’s designation has him fully qualified to teach comprehensive Upset Prevention and Recovery Training. Nick joined APS in April 2017 and is now Director of APS Dothan Programs, overseeing UPRT standardization in the US Army Fixed-Wing training program at CAE’s Dothan Training Center. Nick is a former Naval Aviator with over thirty years, and 10,000 hours military and civilian aviation experience. More on Nick’s background: apstraining.com/treglia/
